GadgetFan - Microsoft to competition among students to develop applications in Windows Phone as XAPFest, Imagine Cup, and the Big App. However, whether this effort can develop a Microsoft? Microsoft certainly hope it could bring new hope to those who are becoming obsolete professional game developers.
Ben Lower, is a senior product manager for Windows Phone. He was behind a number of efforts to focus on the application developer from the students and involve a large number of investment companies.
A number of critics point to Microsoft on this policy, they argue Microsoft does not have an application with sufficient quality to rely primarily on students. Lower but still believe in them and said he was amazed at the increasing number of applications that the students make. Recorded before the release of 7.5 Mango yesterday there were only 450 applications made, now that number reached 3500 per month.
Here there are two mutually beneficial relationships between students and the Microsoft. Microsoft offers promotions, money and free developer tools to students so they want to create applications for Microsoft. Meanwhile, the advantage for Microsoft is able to hire the best talent and to get students' attention early in their careers that will indirectly promote Microsoft.
