Claire Lomas is a professional equestrian athlete who has competed in equestrian competitions in the UK 4. However, bad luck befall Lomas when an accident occurs in competition Osberton Horse Trials in May 2007. He collided with a tree which resulted in a broken spine, neck and ribs. He suffered punctured lungs, pneumonia, must have a tracheotomy to help him breathe and intensive care for 10 days due to paralyzed chest down.
The most painful thing was when he was told that he would never walk again. Lomas did not want to believe the verdict and give up. Over the past five years, with the help of therapy and the tremendous effort, Lomas began to stand and walk 30 steps with the help of some of last week ReWalk, a bionic running tool. However, Lomas continues to run after it and was so excited, he walked and walked. Lomas did not want to go back in the wheelchair again.
Lomas is not satisfied for granted and on Sunday (22/04), Lomas following marathon in London with the help of this tool. This action was done to raise money for spinal cord injury cure research like that of Lomas. The tool itself is ultimately purchased by Lomas thanks to support from his friends and those who moved to the business of Lomas.
Currently, Lomas still follow the marathon and it takes at least two and a half hours for him to complete a mile. Lomas hopes to increase its speed. Lomas rest at night and start again every morning from the point where it left off the night before."There are many people who have a worse condition than me and had no support as I have, so I want to collect as much money as I can," said Claire Lomas.Most participants will complete the marathon race was probably in a matter of hours. However, for Lomas will probably take about three weeks. Amazingly, he did this to raise funds for people with the same boat. Let us pray for the action of the Claire Lomas.
