GadgetFan - Sophos has published a list of 'Dirty Dozen' latest from countries that send spam through the first quarter of 2012. Within one year, India has caught up with the United States to be a major contributor to global than junk or spam messages. India called the spam by some foreign media.
India rise to the top position came because the many new Internet users in the country. Internet growth is being spread in India. But unfortunately it does show that the computer system in this country are not really protected and regulated.
Overall spam messages worldwide has decreased since the first quarter of 2011. This happens because the outcome is serious enough of ISPs around the world. But these achievements also reflect that cyber criminals have changed their tactics. The spammers now feel that sending spam to the email no longer effective, they are instead turning to social networking to spread the latest types of spam campaigns.
While marketing is spam has decreased, the amount of spam or spreading malware that target username, password and personal information, now have increased quite dramatically.
Here we will show the 12 countries that send the most spam during January to March 2012.

Spammers are increasingly taking advantage of another platform to spread their message. Social networks like Facebook and Twitter have become their target. Currently, Pinterest, a new social network, has also been used by spammers to distribute the post linking to a web page that offers to sell goods, or get a commission for the spammer.
Sophos recommends that companies to automatically update their corporate virus protection, and run a consolidated solution at the email and web gateways to defend the site against spam and viruses. Home users were advised to maintain their computer with virus protection, to avoid being part of a botnet that is used in order to send spam.
