RIM launched a special application for the Blind

GadgetFan - Research In Motion has just launched an application that can facilitate the visually impaired to operate a BlackBerry smart phone. The latest breakthrough was given the nickname of the RIM BlackBerry Screen Reader.

RIM Senior Product Manager, Greg Fields stated that "BlackBerry Screen Reader will help the blind to stay connected with people and information that are important to them. This application is one of our commitment to persons with disabilities who have become our customers. "

BlackBerry Screen Reader will provide the sound output based on visual information is displayed on the BlackBerry device, and this application will read anything that appears on the screen and guide the user in navigation on the phone.

There are some excellent features on the BlackBerry Screen Reader, one of which is the Speech settings, where users can create text-setting function to-speech which includes volume, pitch and speech rate, punctuation, and password security. In addition, there are keyboard shortcut feature, which helps the user can set preferences for speech and audio quickly and easily via the physical keyboard shortcut.

BlackBerry Screen Reader is currently available in English, French, Italian, German and Spanish. Also this application can also be downloaded for free for the BlackBerry Curve.
